The Miami Heat won an overtime thriller 103-102 last night to take Game One of the Eastern Conference finals. Obviously every point was essential since they won by only one, but arguably the performance most instrumental to the win, aside from LeBron’s triple-double, was Chris Andersen’s perfect shooting off the bench. Andersen became the eighth player off the bench since 1986 to post a perfect FG% in a playoff game (minimum seven shots).
Perhaps not all sharpshooters are created equal; after all, Stojakovic and Davis scored most of their points from behind the arc. But after nearly losing Game One at home, the Heat are perfectly content with Andersen’s regular old 7-7 night.
